National Coffee Day

Did you celebrate National Coffee Day?  I actually did — Twice!

Of course I had to enjoy coffee clinks with friends at Eataly Chicago with a delicious Lavazza.  Then, I sipped iced Vietnamese Coffee at Pasteur.

Personally, I think every day should be National Coffee Day!  So with that in mind, here are some delicious recipes compliments of Lavazza.  Savor the day!

For your morning:

Caffe Mocha

2 ½ oz. Lavazza espresso

2 ½ oz. milk

1/8 cup hot chocolate

Scoop of sugar (as desired)

Heat up milk and pour into a glass.

Heat up the hot chocolate, froth, and add to the milk.

Pour espresso slowly into the glass and sweeten as you like.

For an afternoon pick-me-up:

Lavazza Iced Latte

1 double shot of Lavazza espresso

*If espresso machine is not available, can be brewed in moka pot or similar

6oz. skim milk

Chocolate powder or flakes

4-5 ice cubes

Fill a glass half-way with ice cubes and pour milk in.

Then add espresso directly on top.

Garnish with chocolate powder or flakes.

For a sweet night-cap:

Espresso Martini

4-5 ice cubes

1/2 oz. of simple syrup or 2 sugar packets

2 pumps of flavored syrup (optional)

1 oz of vodka

Long espresso

Place all ingredients in martini shaker, close and shake well. Strain the contents into a martini or chilled rocks glass.
